Peruvian Police Apprehend Alleged Lieutenant of 'Cuchillo' and Kidnapping Gang
LA LIBERTAD, Peru – In a significant operation, Peruvian authorities have successfully apprehended Julián Reyes Chávez, identified as the alleged lieutenant of the notorious criminal known as 'Cuchillo' (Miguel Antonio Rodríguez). The arrest is part of a broader crackdown on the kidnapping gang "Los Secuestradores de la Esperanza," which has been linked to various abductions in the La Libertad region. Police intelligence agents and Depincri Norte executed the operation, leading to the capture of Chávez along with two other alleged accomplices, Yasmin Ramírez Pérez and Hans Saavedra Malca. The latter two reportedly had prior judicial orders for their detention. The suspects are believed to be involved in the disappearance of nurse Nayeli Dávila Ticlio, who was reported missing in February of this year. Following the arrests, authorities located human remains in a remote area near the Tanguchi road in Virú province. While it is presumed these remains belong to the missing nurse, official confirmation is pending forensic analysis. A police official stated, "We have captured Julián, who is believed to be the second-in-command of the criminal organization 'La Gran Alianza,' led by 'Cuchillo.'" This operation marks a crucial step in dismantling a dangerous criminal network operating in the region and brings hope for justice for the victims and their families.
