A young man's tragic death in Soutomaior, Galicia has prompted a large-scale rescue operation. The incident occurred late in the evening when a 20-year-old man jumped from the Romariz bridge into the Verdugo River. His girlfriend jumped along with him and managed to survive. However, the young man disappeared underwater. The rescue operation involved numerous emergency services, volunteers, and the Civil Guard. According to Lieutenant Gonzalo Panadero, head of the operation, "The participation of the Civil Guard's underwater drone, the Glaudius Mini S, was key in locating the body, which was at a depth of seven meters under the bridge's pillars." The challenging conditions, including the darkness and murky water, necessitated the use of specialized equipment. The low tide significantly aided the divers in their efforts.
