ANPC Cracks Down on Food Safety Violations in Romania
Romania's ANPC conducts nationwide food safety inspections, uncovering widespread violations and issuing hefty fines. The Authority for the Supervision of Processing and Marketing of Non-Food Products (ANPC) recently concluded a large-scale operation across Romania, targeting various food establishments. Inspections revealed numerous violations, including improper meat storage, mislabeling, and unsanitary conditions. "We found meat that was clearly past its expiration date, stored improperly, and presented to customers as fresh," stated one ANPC inspector. The video evidence shows trays of meat that have visibly changed color, indicating spoilage. Another inspector noted, "The labeling on several products was inaccurate, misleading consumers about the contents." The ANPC issued fines exceeding 700,000 lei for the deficiencies found. This operation underscores the importance of food safety regulations and the ANPC's ongoing efforts to protect consumers.
