Belarus Launches Child Safety Campaign Ahead of Summer Holidays MINSK, BELARUS – A nationwide safety campaign focusing on children's well-being has been launched in Belarus, running from May 25th to June 5th, 2025. The initiative, spearheaded by the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MVD), aims to reduce accidents involving children during the summer break. According to MVD representative Anna Banadzik, "60% of child injuries in road accidents occur between May and September, with a significant increase during the summer months when children are unsupervised." The campaign will include a range of activities targeting both children and adults. These measures aim to raise awareness among parents and drivers about the importance of child safety restraints and responsible road behavior. The MVD is emphasizing the use of appropriate car seats and highlighting the need for increased vigilance around children near roads and in public transport.
