London, UK - Mobile network Three is currently experiencing severe service outages across the United Kingdom, impacting voice calls and text messaging for its customers. The disruption is also reportedly affecting emergency 999 calls, raising concerns for public safety. GB News Technology Editor Aaron Brown reported that customers with pay monthly phone or SIM deals with Three are unable to make or receive phone calls or text messages. This outage extends to other mobile networks, such as Smarty Mobile, which rely on Three's infrastructure. In a statement posted on X, Three acknowledged the issue, stating, "We're aware of an issue affecting voice services and are working hard to fix it." The company confirmed that data services, including 4G and 5G mobile internet connections, are still functioning normally. This allows affected customers to use internet-based communication services like WhatsApp, Messenger, iMessage, and FaceTime to get in touch with others. As of now, Three has not provided an estimated time for when the services will be fully restored, urging customers to stay tuned for further updates. The company has extended its apologies for any inconvenience caused by the disruption.
