"Come Along With Us As We Take A Zebra Shark Egg To The Ocean!"
Working together as a worldwide coalition, several groups and aquariums are helping the endangered zebra shark return to prominence.
Georgia Aquarium and partners are working to save the critically endangered zebra shark. The STAR Project focuses on breeding and releasing zebra sharks in Indonesia. The process involves collecting eggs from the aquarium, assessing their viability, and carefully transporting them to Indonesia. Once hatched, the young sharks are cared for in a nursery before being released into the ocean. This multi-institutional project highlights the importance of conservation efforts for endangered species and international collaboration.
