100+ Driving Schools Suspended in Philippines for License Scam
The Philippine Department of Transportation recently suspended over 100 driving schools for alleged involvement in a scheme with fixers to illegally issue driver's licenses. A female suspect was arrested for forging licenses and using the DOTr logo in the scam. "This is a serious issue that undermines the integrity of our licensing system and puts public safety at risk," said Asec. Vigor Mendoza II, LTO Chief. The PNP Anti-Cybercrime Group filed 10 counts of falsification of documents against the suspect, who faces up to 12 years imprisonment. The crackdown highlights the ongoing efforts to combat corruption and ensure road safety in the Philippines. The LTO is committed to strengthening its processes to prevent future incidents and protect the public.
