P1 Billion Shabu Bust in Pampanga: Chinese Suspect Sought A major drug bust in Angeles City, Pampanga has yielded over P1 billion worth of suspected shabu, hidden in tea bags. The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) is currently pursuing a Chinese national believed to be a key figure in a large-scale drug operation. "This is one of the largest seizures we've made this year," stated Atty. Joseph Frederick Calulut, PDEA spokesperson, in an interview with GMA Integrated News. "The packaging suggests the shabu likely originated from the Golden Triangle region, encompassing Thailand, Myanmar, and Laos." The PDEA's investigation is ongoing. Authorities are working to identify and apprehend the Chinese suspect and dismantle the drug syndicate. The operation highlights the continued efforts to combat drug trafficking in the Philippines. The PDEA's recent intensified crackdown, following President Marcos' orders, has resulted in over 300 anti-drug operations in the last week alone, with the seizure of thousands of grams of shabu and other illegal substances.
