Romanian Public Figure Sparks Outrage with Domestic Violence Remarks Bucharest, Romania – A recent podcast interview featuring popular figure Tzancă Uraganu has ignited a fierce debate across social media platforms after he openly admitted to physically assaulting women. During the interview, Uraganu was directly asked if he had ever hit a woman, to which he responded, "I have hit a woman in my relationships, a slap or two, before and after [my current relationship]." When pressed on whether he considers himself a violent person, Uraganu denied the label, stating, "I am not a violent person." However, he proceeded to justify his actions by suggesting that physical force might be necessary in certain situations. "When a woman screams a lot or has a jealousy fit, maybe you give her a slap to wake her up, to control her, or I don't know," he explained. He was quick to clarify the extent of his actions, adding, "But it doesn't mean I've given beatings, knives, punches, kicks, to step on her head or anything. No, it was never like that. Just a slap or two, I don't know, a kick, something else you give a woman to..." His statement trailed off as he acknowledged, "I know it's not normal, but sometimes you get to that in desperation." The comments section of the video reflects a divided public opinion. While some users expressed shock and condemnation, with one commenter writing, "If someone raises their voice, you hit them. Sounds completely normal, doesn't it?.....", others appeared to defend his stance, saying, "Good job brother, if I were in your place I would do the same." The discussion highlights ongoing societal challenges surrounding domestic violence and gender roles in Romania.
