
Grodno Ambulance Driver Faces Prison After Fatal Accident
A tragic accident in Grodno, Belarus, has led to a court case against a 67-year-old ambulance driver. The driver, whose name has not been released, is accused of causing the death of a 19-year-old girl in a traffic accident on March 15, 2025. According to a spokesperson for the Grodno Regional Prosecutor's Office, "The driver was traveling on Kurchatova Street and ran a red light at the intersection with Gaspadarchy Street, exceeding the speed limit." The impact resulted in the immediate death of the young woman, who was driving a Nissan. The Prosecutor's Office has deemed the evidence sufficient to charge the driver with a violation of traffic rules resulting in death through negligence, as outlined in Article 317, Part 2 of the Belarusian Criminal Code.
