Romanian Bio & Co Farm Showcases Sustainable Agriculture and Community Engagement
A recent event at the 'Bio & Co' farm highlighted its innovative approach to sustainable agriculture and community engagement. Located in Romania, the farm, which spans four hectares, offers a unique blend of organic farming and social responsibility. During the visit, attendees were introduced to the farm's ecological practices, including the cultivation of various vegetables such as fennel, chard, celery, kale, Chinese cabbage, lettuce, and parsley. A representative explained the meticulous process of sourcing certified ecological seeds from France, emphasizing the significant investment and commitment required for organic certification, a process that involves two to three years of ecological conversion without chemical inputs. The event also featured six simultaneous workshops tailored for both children and adults, fostering hands-on learning about organic farming and healthy living. Following the educational sessions, visitors had the opportunity to explore a local producers' market, showcasing fresh, organic produce directly from the farm, and concluded their visit with a communal meal. This initiative not only provides high-quality organic products but also serves as a vital social project, promoting sustainable practices and community well-being.
