Social Media Influencer Nurul Nur Ariani Changes Plea to Not Guilty in Trespassing Case
SEREMBAN, Malaysia – Social media influencer Nurul Nur Ariani today changed her plea to not guilty on charges of trespassing the residence of a prominent local artist, Anju, at the Seremban Court. This development follows an earlier proceeding where Nurul had initially pleaded guilty to the charge. However, the court had then set today's date for the reading of facts and sentencing. Nurul's newly appointed lawyer, Amer Haiqal, informed the court that his client decided to change her plea after receiving proper legal advice. "During the previous charge, our client did not have sufficient time to obtain accurate legal counsel. After reviewing this case, we are confident that she has strong grounds to defend herself," Amer Haiqal stated to the media following the proceedings. He added that the defense would present a comprehensive argument at the next trial date, aiming to prove his client's innocence regarding the accusation. The court has scheduled a new date in July for the full trial of this high-profile case. The case continues to attract significant public attention, given its involvement of a well-known social media influencer popular among the younger generation and a popular local celebrity. The defense emphasized that all case facts would be presented and argued in court to ensure justice is upheld. Also present to support Nurul at the Seremban Court was Kak Jan, a representative from the Malaysian Muslim Consumers Association.
