Private Investigator Launches Major Search for Knife in Kohberger Case
A private investigator has announced a major search operation to locate the murder weapon in the Bryan Kohberger case. Jason Jensen, co-founder of the Cold Case Coalition, plans to lead dozens of volunteers this weekend in scouring a 35-mile route between Pullman, Washington, and Moscow, Idaho. The focus of the search is a Ka-Bar knife and its sheath, believed to contain Kohberger's DNA, which was reportedly found on a bed next to one of the victims, according to court documents. Jensen's search will cover areas along US Highway 95 and US Route 195, as well as sections of the Snake River near Wawawai Park. This route is based on video surveillance of Kohberger's white Hyundai Elantra and cellphone data recorded in the early morning hours of November 13, 2022, when the killings occurred. Jensen stated that while state evidence remains sealed and a murder weapon has not been officially recovered, he believes the knife is still out there. He has informed the Moscow Police Department of his plans, with the goal of bringing a sense of relief to the communities of Moscow and Pullman, which have been deeply affected by the murders.
