New York artist accidentally names their product with a racial slur and the internet finds it absolutely hilarious.
A small business owner, known as JUJ Junction, recently issued a public apology after inadvertently using a derogatory term on their product packaging. The owner, who produces hand-drawn folding cards and postcards, explained in a video uploaded on September 26, 2025, that they had unknowingly used a slur, believing it to be a shortened form of 'carabiner.' "I made a big mistake. I'm extremely embarrassed, mortified," the owner stated, recounting how they discovered the error through comments on a previous video. They expressed deep regret, saying, "I woke up and I saw on my video that it had a bunch of comments and I was like, 'Yes, finally like my products are getting noticed.' And then I read the comments and I was like, 'What have I done?'" The owner further elaborated on their lack of awareness, stating, "I didn't know it existed, I didn't know it was a term that was even used. Like, I didn't know of the derogatory word." Despite the unfortunate error, the owner confirmed that some customers still placed orders. The video then showed the owner packing these orders, which included 'Mystery BYO Kits,' a free 'conspiracy theory Gromert's postcard,' matchboxes, and branded pens. The owner concluded the video by acknowledging the public nature of their mistake and the personal impact, stating, "I truly found out the hard way," and packing orders "in shame." The incident highlights the challenges small businesses face in navigating public perception and the importance of thorough research, particularly when using colloquialisms or abbreviations in branding.
