'I want my money back': Mississippi man buys 3 appliances from Home Depot, pays…
A Mississippi man says Home Depot left appliances uninstalled and damaged his kitchen. Here's what happened next.
A homeowner in the US has voiced significant frustration regarding a recent appliance delivery and installation service from Home Depot, alleging substantial damages and incomplete work. The customer, who spent $4300 on a package deal including a stove, microwave, dishwasher, and refrigerator, claims that only the refrigerator was properly installed. The new stove and microwave were reportedly left uninstalled in his garage. The most contentious issue revolves around the dishwasher. According to the homeowner, the delivery team attempted to install the new dishwasher, bending one of its legs in the process. They then allegedly informed his wife that "everything's good, you're good to go" and had her sign off on the delivery, only to then state that the leg was bent and suggested her husband could fix it with a shim. Crucially, the old dishwasher, along with its drain hose, was removed by the team, leaving the kitchen sink unusable as it is connected to the dishwasher's drain. The homeowner recorded the state of his kitchen, showing the empty, damaged cabinet space where the dishwasher should be, and a sink filled with dirty dishes. He expressed extreme anger and demanded immediate resolution from Home Depot, threatening to take his business elsewhere if the issues are not rectified today, stating, "I want my money back." He highlighted the damage to his cabinets, which he asserts will require professional repair beyond a simple paint job. The incident raises questions about the quality of third-party delivery and installation services provided by large retailers and the recourse available to consumers when such issues arise.
