Grodno, Belarus – Belarusian shoppers are adapting to a new system for verifying product authenticity in stores. DataMatrix codes, similar to QR codes, are now being used to combat counterfeiting. One shopper, who wishes to remain anonymous, commented, "At first, it was a bit confusing, but now I understand the process. It's good to know the products are genuine." The new system requires scanning both the traditional barcode and the DataMatrix code for certain items, such as alcohol and sugary drinks. A helpful video tutorial has been circulating online, guiding consumers through the process. The "Electronic Sign" app also allows consumers to access detailed product information by scanning the DataMatrix code. This new system is expected to improve consumer confidence and reduce the risk of purchasing counterfeit goods.
