From Scrap to Cash: A Belarusian's Unique Recycling Venture
Recycling in Rural Belarus: A Look at the Profitability of Radiator Dismantling In a small village in Belarus, a man named Nicholas Laguta recently undertook a radiator dismantling project. His video detailing the process has gained some traction online, highlighting a lesser-known aspect of the recycling industry in the region. Laguta's video meticulously documents the amount of copper and aluminum recovered, totaling 35 kg of copper tubing and 17 kg of aluminum honeycomb. However, he also outlines the expenses incurred, including approximately 60 rubles for oxygen, propane, and transportation. "It's a lot of work," Laguta states in the video, "but the results are worth it if you do the math." His project underscores the potential for individuals to contribute to recycling efforts while also generating income. While the profitability of such endeavors may vary, Laguta's experience offers a glimpse into the economic realities of scrap metal recycling in rural Belarus.
