Car Catches Fire in Thessaloniki Residential Building, Firefighters Respond Swiftly
SINDOS, THESSALONIKI – A car caught fire in the ground-floor parking area of a residential building in Sindos, Thessaloniki, yesterday, causing significant alarm among residents. Thick black smoke was seen billowing from the vehicle, prompting immediate calls to emergency services. Eyewitnesses reported hearing shouts as the fire intensified. "The old car that was parked here just caught fire," a woman can be heard saying in a video captured by a local resident. She also urged neighbors to evacuate the building, shouting, "Madam, madam, ring the bells for people to leave the building quickly! The fire department is coming!" Within minutes, a fire truck arrived on the scene. Firefighters quickly deployed hoses and began to combat the blaze. Their swift action helped contain the fire, preventing it from spreading further into the building. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
