Guatemala City, Guatemala – A Guatemalan man, known as Larzon Roofer GT, recently shared a poignant video detailing his deportation from the United States, marking what he described as the end of his "American dream." The man, visibly emotional, recounted being detained on a Tuesday and subsequently returned to his home country. In his video, he expressed profound sorrow over leaving his life and family behind in the U.S. "Practically, they only deported my body because my entire life, my heart, my mind stayed there," he stated, tears welling in his eyes. He spoke of his four children, particularly his two youngest, who would eagerly await his return from work each day. "How do I explain to them that I won't be able to come back, that I won't be able to return, that they shouldn't wait for me every evening when I leave work?" he questioned, his voice breaking. He further shared a heartbreaking detail, "One of the youngest told me, 'Daddy, when are you coming back? I'm scared at night,' he said, because he always slept with me." The man acknowledged the harsh reality faced by many immigrants, stating, "Unfortunately, this is what we who migrate from one country to another go through." Despite his immense pain, he concluded with a message of resilience: "But anyway, it's time to get up from this and keep fighting. Cheer up!" His story highlights the deep personal cost of immigration policies and the emotional toll of family separation.
