
Sheinbaum Calls for Independent Judiciary and Rule of Law in Mexico
Mexico City, Mexico – Claudia Sheinbaum, a prominent political figure, today emphasized the critical need for a new judicial power in Mexico that operates independently and upholds the rule of law. Speaking from a podium featuring the Mexican coat of arms, Sheinbaum stated, "We want the new Judicial Power to establish a true rule of law, we don't want it to listen to the presidency." She underscored the existence of "honest judges" within the system, advocating for a judiciary that ensures accountability. Sheinbaum further elaborated on her vision for judicial integrity, asserting that judges should not release criminals and that money laundering must be prevented. She also called for the prosecution of white-collar crimes, stating, "white-collar crimes must also be judged." Her remarks highlight a commitment to strengthening Mexico's legal framework and ensuring justice for all citizens, free from undue influence.
