Nakuru Road Upgrade to Tackle Blackspot, Boost Economy: DP Kindiki's Announcement Elburgon, Nakuru County, Kenya – May 15, 2025 – A somber ceremony marking the burial of six accident victims in Elburgon took an unexpected turn with a major announcement from Deputy President Kindiki. Speaking at the burial, Kindiki revealed that the expansion and dualling of the Nakuru-Mau Summit Road will be a key priority for President Ruto's administration. This project aims to address the perilous Salgaa blackspot, notorious for its high number of fatal accidents. "The expansion will not only improve safety but also significantly boost the economies of Nairobi, Rift Valley, and Nyanza," Kindiki stated. He highlighted the economic benefits that improved infrastructure would bring to the region. The project, which will transform the road into a dual carriageway, is scheduled to commence in July 2025. The contractor is already on-site, preparing for the commencement of work.
