
Teen Stabbed in Halewood Knife Fight; Arrest Made
Halewood Stabbing: 16-Year-Old Arrested After Knife Fight A 16-year-old boy was stabbed in Halewood, Merseyside, on Tuesday, May 27, following a fight involving knives. Merseyside Police responded to reports of two males fighting with knives at around 7:50 pm on New Hutte Lane. The victim sustained stab wounds to the arm and chest and was taken to the hospital in a stable condition. He has since been discharged. A 16-year-old boy from Huyton was arrested on Thursday on suspicion of section 18 wounding with intent. He has been conditionally bailed pending further enquiries. Detective Chief Inspector Cath Cummings said, “We are keenly aware of the concern and fear that such incidents cause in our communities and this arrest is part of the extensive work being carried out on this incident.” She added, “Knife crime causes devastation and reducing such incidents is an absolute priority for Merseyside Police and for those organisations we work alongside. Young people carrying and using knives will not be tolerated, and doing so can increase the likelihood of those people also being hurt.” The public is urged to provide any information about knife crime to the police or anonymously via Crimestoppers.
