Hungarian "Otthon Start Program" Ignites Housing Market Boom
Budapest, Hungary – The recently launched "Otthon Start Program" has significantly invigorated Hungary's housing market, according to real estate expert Balogh László in a recent government communication. Data for August reveals a substantial 57% increase in telephone inquiries for available homes and apartments, a surge directly attributed to the program's introduction. Mr. László noted a distinct pattern in buyer interest: in the capital, Budapest, the majority of inquiries target properties valued between 50 and 100 million Forints. Conversely, in smaller towns and settlements, properties priced below 50 million Forints are attracting the most attention from prospective buyers. Furthermore, the expert highlighted a widespread increase in interest across nearly all Hungarian counties. Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg, Bács-Kiskun, and Győr-Moson-Sopron counties, for instance, have seen interest in properties rise by 70%, 80%, and 100% respectively for both apartments and houses. Balogh László concluded by stating that these trends indicate the Otthon Start Program's momentum is poised to significantly dynamize the real estate market over the coming half-year.
