Despite numerous signs posted across various locations and repeated warnings issued through local media and social networks, the practice of 'reserving' beach space continues. Footage released by the municipal company shows workers at dawn collecting a variety of items, including towels, beach mats, and inflatable rafts, which were left unattended on the pebble beaches. These items are then systematically gathered and loaded onto a municipal truck. "It is our duty to keep the beach clean, tidy, and accessible to everyone," stated a representative from Makarski Komunalac. "We remind everyone that reserving beach spots by leaving personal items overnight is strictly prohibited. This rule is in place to ensure fairness and enjoyment for all visitors and residents." Local authorities emphasize that the enforcement aims to discourage selfish practices that monopolize public spaces, especially during the peak tourist season.
