
Quick-Thinking Husband and Bystanders Thwart Gold Necklace Snatching in Rawang
A brazen gold necklace snatching in Rawang, Selangor, on Sunday evening was thwarted by the quick actions of the victim's husband and several bystanders. The incident occurred around 5:45 pm outside a shop in Pekan Rawang. According to a police statement, the suspect, a 31-year-old man, grabbed the necklace from a 45-year-old woman as she was entering her car. "The suspect attempted to escape, but the husband, a 55-year-old man, along with the help of the public, managed to detain him," said Gombak District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Noor Ariffin Mohamad Nasir. The suspect, who sustained injuries to his chest and knees, is currently under a seven-day remand. Police are still searching for a second suspect who escaped on a motorcycle. The incident highlights the importance of community vigilance in preventing crime. The swift action of the bystanders prevented the suspect from escaping and ensured a quick arrest.
