Malaysian Deputy Minister Clarifies Gas Subsidy Policy Amidst Public Confusion
Concerns arise in Malaysia about the distribution of subsidized gas canisters. Recently, many small business owners have expressed their concern about the new policy of the government. The new policy states that only large businesses can use the subsidized green canisters, whereas small businesses have to use non-subsidized purple canisters. This has caused an outrage among the citizens of Malaysia. The Deputy Minister of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living, Dr. Fuziah Salleh has addressed the concerns of the citizens. "Makcik Kiah, a small business owner, can still use subsidized green gas canisters even if she uses one canister for frying bananas, one for noodles, and one for hot water for customers. The purple canisters are only for large-scale businesses," stated Dr. Fuziah Salleh. This statement has brought relief to many small business owners. This shows that the government is trying to address the concerns of the citizens and is working towards a solution.
