Malaysia Invests 88 Million Ringgit to Upgrade Overcrowded Schools
Malaysia's Public Works Department (JKR) has announced a major upgrade initiative for schools struggling with overcrowding. A ceremony was held in Shah Alam, Selangor, where 127 Letters of Acceptance (SSTs) were presented to contractors. The project, with a total cost of 88 million ringgit, covers six states and aims to improve conditions in schools with high student density. "This is a historic day for JKR and the Ministry of Education," said one official at the ceremony. The upgrades will include additional classrooms and other necessary facilities, with completion expected by October 30, 2025. The project utilizes pre-approved plans to expedite the process and ensure efficient use of funds. This initiative represents a significant step towards addressing a pressing issue in the Malaysian education system.
