A Malaysian woman, Norizah Tambunan Nordin, 47, passed away in Mecca on May 16th, 2025, after arriving for her Hajj pilgrimage. She suffered a fatal heart attack. Nordin worked as an Assistant Administrative Officer in Batu Pahat District Office. "She often spoke of her wish to visit the Holy Land," said a colleague who preferred to remain anonymous. Nordin's unexpected death highlights the risks associated with pilgrimage, and her story serves as a reminder of life's fragility. She was buried in the Sharayaa 64 Cemetery, Mecca, according to Islamic tradition for those who die while performing Hajj. Her passing is mourned by her colleagues and friends.
