Mother's Sacrifice: Car Plunges into River, Claiming One Life
Tragedy in Sungai Triang: Mother Sacrifices Life Saving Child A heart-wrenching incident unfolded in Sungai Triang, Malaysia, when a car carrying a family accidentally plunged into the river. Sakirah Akob, 31, perished in the accident, but her husband, Abdul Wahid Randa, managed to save their 16-month-old daughter. The incident occurred while the family was fishing near the riverbank. Abdul Wahid described the terrifying moment: "The car suddenly plunged into the river. I was about 8 meters away, fishing, and I managed to grab our daughter before the car completely submerged." Despite his heroic efforts to save his wife, Sakirah was trapped inside the car as it sank and was carried away by the current. "I watched as our car slowly sank and drifted away with my wife inside," Abdul Wahid recounted, his voice choked with emotion. "She only managed to say, 'Abang!' before she disappeared." Sakirah's body was recovered three days later by a jogger, about 2.5 kilometers from the accident site. The car was recovered the day before, but Sakirah's body was not found inside. This tragic event serves as a stark reminder of the unpredictable nature of accidents and the immense sacrifices parents make for their children.
