8kg of Illegal Tobacco Seized in Minsk: 30-Year-Old Arrested

Minsk Police Seize Eight Kilograms of Illegal Tobacco Products Minsk, Belarus – In a significant operation, Belarusian law enforcement officers from the Minsk city police department have apprehended a 30-year-old resident of Minsk on charges of possessing and intending to distribute a large quantity of illegal tobacco products. The arrest occurred on June 8th, 2025, and resulted in the seizure of approximately eight kilograms of the contraband substance. The video released by the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MVD) shows numerous packages of the seized material. A spokesperson for the MVD, appearing in the video, stated, "The individual was apprehended and a significant quantity of tobacco smoking products, intended for further distribution, was found in his possession." The spokesperson further emphasized that the production and distribution of such products are strictly prohibited in Belarus. The suspect now faces serious legal consequences, including the possibility of a substantial fine or administrative arrest.
