PNP to Increase Road Monitoring Outside NCAP Coverage
The PNP in the Philippines is stepping up its presence on roads not covered by the No Contact Apprehension Policy (NCAP). This follows concerns about traffic violations and safety outside the NCAP's jurisdiction. PNP Chief Nicolas Torre III announced that additional personnel and resources, including over 100 patrol cars and 700 handheld radios, will be deployed to these areas. "The first-level supervisor, whether it's a sergeant or police officer, will be investigated," he stated, adding that they will face administrative cases for failure to supervise their personnel. This move aims to strengthen law enforcement and ensure the 5-minute emergency response target is met. The increased visibility of police officers is expected to deter traffic violations and improve road safety across the country.
