The National Education Dialogue Committee today presented a comprehensive 148-page report to President John Mahama, outlining key challenges and opportunities in Ghana's education system. The report, a result of extensive consultations with stakeholders, contains 212 recommendations categorized into five key areas: basic education (31 recommendations), SHS (19), TVET (27), tertiary education (29), and cross-cutting issues (77). Additionally, seven recommendations focus on sustainable financing, and 13 address accountability and governance. A committee member stated, "This report highlights the need for emphasis on foundational learning at the KG and primary school levels, focusing on language, mathematics, and scientific and cultural literacy." The report signals a significant step towards improving Ghana's education system, and the government's response to these recommendations will be crucial in shaping the future of education in the country.
