Bolivia Fuel Crisis Eases as Arica Fuel Shipments Arrive
Bolivia Fuel Crisis: Arica Shipments Promise Relief Arica, Chile – May 31, 2025 – Long lines at Bolivian gas stations, a persistent issue for the past eight days, are expected to ease thanks to incoming fuel shipments from Arica, Chile. The Agencia Nacional de Hidrocarburos (ANH) assures the public that the additional fuel will significantly increase supply. "The fuel arriving through Arica will generate an excess volume, allowing us to gradually reduce the lines," stated Germán Jiménez, ANH Executive Director, in an interview with Red Uno. Jiménez highlighted the substantial volume of approximately 130 tankers, or nearly 4 million liters daily, indicating a considerable increase in fuel availability. The ANH is actively exploring alternative routes to expedite the fuel delivery process. While the precise timeline for complete relief remains uncertain, the arrival of this substantial fuel supply is a significant step toward resolving the crisis and easing the burden on Bolivian citizens.
