Exclusive Video: Teves Deportation, Handcuffs, and NBI Arrest

Arnolfo "Arnie" Teves Jr., a former lawmaker in the Philippines, was deported from Timor-Leste on May 30, 2025, and immediately taken into custody by the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) upon arrival. Video footage obtained by Rappler and courtesy of the NBI shows various stages of his deportation, from his time on the plane to his processing at the NBI. The video shows Teves appearing emotional during the flight and being handcuffed by NBI agents. One NBI agent is heard saying (in Tagalog), "Maluwag na, maluwag na," which translates to "It's loose, it's loose," referring to the handcuffs. The arrest is related to an ongoing murder investigation. This visual account adds a powerful dimension to the ongoing legal proceedings.
