Oil Tanker Explosion in Tutimayu Claims Two Lives in Fatal Collision

COCHABAMBA, Bolivia – A devastating accident in Tutimayu, Cochabamba, resulted in the deaths of two individuals after an oil tanker truck exploded following a collision. Security camera footage, released by Red Uno, captured the dramatic moments of the incident, which occurred around 7:30 PM. According to initial reports, the tanker truck, which was en route from Santa Cruz to Cochabamba, reportedly lost its brakes as it approached a curve in Tutimayu. It then collided head-on with another truck traveling from Cochabamba towards the eastern part of the country. The impact triggered an immediate and powerful explosion, followed by a rapidly spreading fire. Eyewitnesses described a strong flash of light and a massive blaze that quickly engulfed the area. The fire, fueled by spilled oil and tar, extended along the roadside. Transit authorities have launched an investigation to determine the precise causes of this fatal accident.
