Bolivia Braces for Record Cold: SENAMHI Forecasts Unusually Low Temperatures

La Paz, Bolivia - The National Service of Meteorology and Hydrology (SENAMHI) has issued a warning regarding the onset of the coldest days of the year, with an unusual drop in temperatures expected across Bolivia. According to SENAMHI, minimum temperatures are projected to be lower than those recorded in 2024, signaling a more severe winter period. An official from SENAMHI stated, "For the upcoming week, with less humidity in the Altiplano, we anticipate recording even lower temperatures. In areas such as Potosí, temperatures could potentially reach -25 degrees Celsius." The report also highlights the occurrence of unusual weather phenomena, including the presence of cold fog, which has been observed in locations like Tambo Quemado. Residents are advised to take necessary precautions and prepare for the intensified cold.
