ENEM 2025: High School Diploma for Adults in Brazil
Brazil's Education Minister Camilo Santana announced a significant change to the ENEM 2025 exam. For the first time since 2017, the ENEM will serve as a high school diploma for adults over 18 who haven't completed their secondary education. This decision aims to provide an alternative pathway to high school completion for older individuals. The new policy requires participants to achieve a minimum score of 450 points across all knowledge areas and 500 points on the essay portion of the exam. The announcement was met with positive reactions from many adults who previously faced hurdles in obtaining their high school diploma. "This is a great opportunity for those of us who couldn't finish school earlier," said Maria Silva, a 25-year-old who plans to take the ENEM. The registration period for the ENEM 2025 begins on Monday and runs until June 6th. This initiative is expected to improve access to education and opportunities for many Brazilians.
