Brazilian Police Bust 'Death Squad' Targeting High-Ranking Officials
Brazilian Federal Police have arrested five individuals suspected of being part of a group that spied on high-ranking officials and planned contract killings. The group, calling themselves "Comando C4," charged up to R$250,000 for their services, targeting judges, ministers, senators, and deputies. According to police, the group included both active and reserve military and civilian members. "The operation was a significant blow to organized crime," said a Federal Police spokesperson. The investigation revealed a detailed price list for their services, with fees varying based on the target's importance. One of those arrested is an active-duty military member. The operation, authorized by Supreme Court Justice Cristiano Zanin, involved warrants executed in São Paulo, Mato Grosso, and Minas Gerais. This successful operation highlights the ongoing fight against corruption and criminal activity in Brazil.
