Brazilian Federal Police Uncover Espionage Ring, Arrest Five in Connection to Lawyer's Murder Brazil is reeling from a major Federal Police operation that has uncovered a sophisticated espionage ring allegedly operating within the country's judicial system. The operation, authorized by Supreme Court Justice Cristiano Zanin, targeted a group suspected of selling court rulings and spying on high-profile figures. The investigation was sparked by the murder of lawyer Roberto Zampieri, whose phone contained a damning price list for their services. According to the investigation, the group charged R$250,000 to spy on Supreme Court justices, R$100,000 for deputies, and R$150,000 for senators. 'This operation takes the crisis to another level,' said Daniela Lima, a prominent news anchor, in a recent video report. 'They were using heavy weaponry and sophisticated surveillance equipment.' The price list found on Zampieri's phone also revealed a charge of R$50,000 for spying on ordinary citizens. The group allegedly comprised active and retired military personnel. Five individuals have been arrested in various states across Brazil. The investigation is ongoing, and further arrests are expected.
