A zoo visitor was left angered and disheartened after witnessing the "insane" treatment of a baby liger.
A recent video from a Thai zoo has sparked debate regarding animal welfare practices, showing tourists paying to interact with a baby liger cub. The footage, captured by vlogger Scott Bradley, depicts a cub being handled by staff, at times pulled by its tail, within a glass-enclosed room where visitors can take photographs. Mr. Bradley expressed his dismay, stating, "This cub had no interaction with other animals—just handlers pulling it around by its tail to pose." He further highlighted the controversial nature of ligers, a hybrid cross between a lion and a tiger, noting, "These hybrid cats don’t exist in the wild, they’re bred purely for entertainment." The video raises questions about the ethical implications of such attractions and the conditions provided for animals used in tourist interactions.
