Some kringloop stores in the Netherlands look like a ripped page out of an IKEA catalogue, ever wondered why?
Amstelveen, Netherlands – A recent visit to "De Boem Kringloopwinkel" in Amstelveen by a local thrifting enthusiast has highlighted the hidden gems available in second-hand stores. The shopper, known for her interior and thrifting content, shared her finds from the popular local spot. Among the notable items discovered were two IKEA Lyby chairs, originally from 2006, priced at €50 each. While these chairs were ultimately left behind, their presence sparked interest in vintage IKEA designs. Another item considered was an IKEA Storjorm mirror with integrated lighting, priced at €25, but it was passed over due to damage. The store also featured a wide array of glassware, including pieces from the Luminarc brand. The highlight of the trip, however, was the discovery of a vintage Decotec design towel holder, which the shopper purchased for €12.50. This particular item, identified as a post-modern handdoekenrek from 1980-1989, was noted to be a valuable find, demonstrating the potential for unique and affordable additions to home decor through thrifting.
