This cultural program aims to make the historic landmark more accessible to residents and tourists alike. According to a representative from the Theatro Municipal, the main hall can be visited every Tuesday from 10 AM to 4 PM and Saturday from 10 AM to 2 PM. Visitors are permitted to remain in the hall until 5 PM on Tuesdays and 3 PM on Saturdays, provided they enter before the closing time. The initiative allows for free exploration and photography of the stunning architectural details. For those seeking a deeper dive into the theater's rich history and other spaces, free guided educational tours are available. These tours run in Portuguese on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays at 11 AM, 1 PM, 3 PM, and 5 PM, and on Saturdays at 11 AM, 1 PM, and 2 PM. Reservations for guided tours must be made in advance via the official website, starting at 10 AM the day prior, with a limit of two tickets per CPF. Beyond the free access, the Theatro Municipal continues to host a vibrant cultural program, including various performances throughout its season. Recent highlights include the opera "Carmen e o Contractador de Diamantes" from the 2024 season.
