Penang Food Court Transformed: RM100,000 Upgrade Improves Lives
Penang Food Court Gets RM100,000 Upgrade Thanks to Local MP A food court in Lengkok Burma, George Town, Penang, has undergone a significant transformation thanks to a RM100,000 upgrade funded by YB Syerleena Rashid, the Member of Parliament for Bukit Bendera. The project, which focused on improving the infrastructure and vendor stalls, has been lauded by both vendors and customers alike. "This place was in dire need of repair," said one vendor, who preferred to remain anonymous. "The new roof and stalls have made a huge difference. It's much more comfortable for us to work here, and it's attracting more customers." The improvements are clearly visible in before-and-after photos shared by YB Rashid. The old, dilapidated structures have been replaced with modern, clean stalls under a sturdy new roof. The upgrade also included the installation of fans, making the area more comfortable for diners. YB Rashid emphasized the importance of supporting local businesses and improving community facilities. "This is just one example of how we are working to improve the lives of our constituents," she said. "We believe that investing in our local communities is essential for creating a better future for everyone." The Lengkok Burma food court upgrade serves as a model for other similar projects across Malaysia, demonstrating the positive impact of government investment in local infrastructure and small businesses.
