Kazakhstan's National University of Defense Launches Kazakh Language Program for Foreign Military Personnel Astana, Kazakhstan – May 30, 2025 – The National University of Defense (NUD) of the Republic of Kazakhstan announced a new initiative to enhance communication and integration among international military officers. Starting September 1st, 2025, the university will offer intensive Kazakh language courses. This program is designed for foreign officers who wish to improve their understanding of the Kazakh language. "We are pleased to offer this opportunity to our international partners. Learning Kazakh will allow them to better understand our culture and work more effectively with their Kazakh counterparts," stated Major General Askar Mustabekov, head of the NUD, in an exclusive interview. The nine-month program will be similar to those already offered to officers from China, France, and India. These officers have previously undertaken intensive Russian language training before joining their respective faculties. The initiative underscores Kazakhstan's commitment to fostering international collaboration within the defense sector.
