Zhambyl Region Officials Fined for Illegal Land Distribution to Relatives Zhambyl, Kazakhstan – A recent investigation by 7 Kanal has uncovered a case of corruption involving the illegal distribution of land plots to relatives of government officials in Zhambyl Oblast. The investigation focused on two akims, the heads of rural districts. One akim's mother-in-law received land ostensibly for gardening, but its purpose was later changed to commercial use.
