Over 80 Homes Damaged in Jempol Storm A powerful storm hit Jempol, Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia on Saturday evening, causing significant damage to more than 80 homes and displacing dozens of families. Heavy rain and strong winds ripped roofs from houses, downed trees, and left a trail of destruction. The Malaysian Civil Defence Force (APM) responded swiftly to the emergency, providing assistance to those affected. "Feldda Lui Barat recorded 224 victims from 62 families, while Kampung Baru Air Hitam involved 28 victims from six families," said Lieutenant Colonel Mohamad Nazri Meskam, director of the Negeri Sembilan APM. He added that four team members arrived at the scene in Feldda Lui Barat at 6:14 PM and found several house roofs had been torn off by strong winds. Many residents reported the storm was sudden and intense. "The rain came down so hard, and the wind was incredibly strong. I've never seen anything like it," said one resident, whose home suffered significant roof damage. The APM has set up temporary relief centers at the PPS Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Lui Barat and Kampung Air Hitam to assist those affected by the storm.
