Bolivia Braces for Impact: 'Polar Bomb' Cold Front Expected May 28th LA PAZ, BOLIVIA — Bolivians are preparing for a significant drop in temperatures as a polar air mass, dubbed a "polar bomb", is set to hit the country on May 28th. According to Kenny Quisbert, a forecaster with the Bolivian National Meteorological and Hydrological Service (Senamhi), the cold front will bring not only colder temperatures but also rain. "This polar bomb, as it's been called, is a cold front entering the country on the 28th," Quisbert explained in a recent Unitel interview. "It will initially cause some rain and temperature drops." The impact is expected to be widespread, affecting the Chaco region, parts of Tarija, Chuquisaca, and Santa Cruz. Northern La Paz, the Cochabamba tropics, and the Pando department are also expected to be affected. The cold front is expected to last until at least the end of the month, according to Senamhi. The timely warning from Senamhi allows Bolivians to prepare for the change in weather conditions, ensuring safety and preparedness during the cold front.
