Bolivia's Supreme Electoral Tribunal (TSE) sets a deadline of August 3rd, 2025, for challenges to candidates' eligibility in the upcoming presidential elections. This follows concerns about potential disqualifications. According to Fernando Arteaga, Secretary of the TSE's Chamber, challenges must include verifiable evidence. "You have to present your complaint accompanied by proof that any candidate who intends to be disqualified is not meeting some requirement that is in the Constitution," Arteaga stated. The TSE will also accept substitutions for disqualified candidates until the same date. Political parties, such as NGP and ADN, have already announced plans to replace their presidential candidates before the deadline. This period of candidate substitution and challenge resolution is a crucial stage in the Bolivian electoral process, ensuring fair and transparent elections.
