Public Ministry Launches Investigation into Chuquisaca Governor's Accidental Fall

SUCRE, BOLIVIA – The Public Ministry has launched an ex officio investigation into the accidental fall of Chuquisaca Governor Damián Condori. The decision to open the inquiry comes after the Bolivian Police informed the Public Ministry of the incident. A prosecutor, whose name was not immediately available, stated that a special commission of prosecutors, including himself and Dr. Mario Durán, has been assigned to lead the investigation. "We have taken knowledge of this accidental fall that the Governor of the Department of Chuquisaca suffered," the prosecutor confirmed. "This situation was brought to the attention of the Public Ministry through the interoperability system by the Bolivian Police in the early afternoon." The investigation is in its preliminary stages, focusing on gathering evidence to ascertain the precise circumstances surrounding the fall. The prosecutor noted that various hypotheses are circulating in the media and among government officials, but stressed that these would be subject to thorough investigation. "We are only just beginning with the investigative acts to determine what happened," he added. Governor Condori reportedly underwent surgery in the early hours of yesterday following the fall and remains in a reserved condition at the hospital. The Public Ministry stated that further investigative actions would be determined as more evidence is collected.
