Santiago Abascal y los jóvenes

Madrid, Spain – Santiago Abascal, leader of the VOX party, has called upon the youth of Spain to embrace a pivotal role in shaping the nation's future, asserting that they hold "the tool for change." In a recent interview, excerpts of which were widely shared, Abascal highlighted a significant generational divide in political allegiance. "We know that the percentage of votes for VOX among young people aged 18 to 20 is 50%," Abascal stated, contrasting this sharply with an 8% support rate among those over 80. He urged young people to engage in dialogue with their elders, saying, "They must ask their parents and grandparents for a change." Abascal further criticized the "bipartisan system" which, according to him, has "stolen everything that Spaniards had" over the past four decades, including not only financial resources but also "security" and "the unity of the country." He emphasized that rather than fostering generational conflict, young people have a "great responsibility" to bridge this gap and advocate for a new direction. The comments underscore VOX's strategy to mobilize younger voters and frame the party as a catalyst for national renewal against established political structures.
